Shaleena Nowbuth is an international fashion designer/stylist in London, UK and in Mauritius. Originally from Mauritius, she moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to pursue a degree in Business Studies. While in KL she had the opportunity to experience the world of fashion as a model. She eventually moved to the UK and her passion for fashion led her to undertake a Fashion, Design & Styling Degree at Middlesex University, London and a Fashion Photography course at Central Saint Martins, University of Arts, London in a quest to pursue her dream career in the fashion industry. Whilst studying Shaleena worked as Fashion Adviser at John Lewis Department Store in Oxford Street, London. She has also worked as a freelance stylist and designer creating custom made outfits for private clients.
Shaleena launched her brand ShaleenaNowbuth after having gauged 5 years of experience working as a freelance designer. With an affinity for luxurious fabrics, texture, rich colour and handcrafted design, Shaleena’s brand is reflective of her sense of style and affinity for nature. Her creative style is influenced by her origins and travels. Shaleena strives on creating innovative and inspiring design coupled with clothes that are comfortable and practical to wear to suit the conditions of the modern woman. She draws her motivation by the concept of empowering women with the self-confidence that comes with a new look and an individual and stylish wardrobe.
Shaleena established her fashion label in 2016 and launched her website www.shaleenanowbuth.com and online fashion shop. Her brand has gradually gained momentum since inception and she has showcased her work at many fashion shows over the last 18 months in the UK and France.
